Sunspray® Ultra-Fine®

 Sunspray oils are paraffinic oils specifically refined to meet growers' requirements for an extremely effective pesticide with low toxicity. HollyFrontier's Sunspray pesticides accommodate a large spectrum of seasonal and crop requirements. Each is carefully refined to meet stringent specifications for two key properties: unsulfonated residue (UR) and distillation. The result: outstanding oils offering pesticidal performance.

HollyFrontier Sunspray oils offer a unique mode of pesticidal action and are registered as pesticides with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). Sunspray Oils, however, differ from conventional synthetic organic pesticides in one very important respect: most synthetic organic pesticides kill pests by means of poisoning, the ingestion of toxic chemicals. Sunspray oils kill pests primarily through the physical action of "smothering" insects and their eggs. In some cases, Sunspray Oils have also been reported to 

• Adversely affect insect cell membrane function
• Deter feeding
• Repel insects
• Possibly interfere with oviposting

While it is common for pests to develop a resistance to traditional 'poison' pesticides, there is no documented case in which any pest has become resistant to Sunspray Oils. Growers can enjoy season after season of safe, effective pesticidal performance…a major advantage over synthetic organic pesticides.
